Laura and John Mariano, MIIO owners, were introduced to Marco Ferrabue who works for CANCLINI, a family owned fabric source that began nearly 100 years ago in Como, Italy and later was moved to Lurate Caccivio, Italy. This brand is widely admired by prestigious clothing brands and historical tailors such as Alfred Dunhill, Aquascutum, Hugo Boss, Brioni, Christian Dior, Ermenegildo Zegna, Eton, Etro, Hackett, Hermes, Isetan, Polo Ralph Lauren, Prada, Sand are among CANCLINI’s most valuable and historic customers. CANCLINI is now in its third generation of family leadership.
Now with a fabric source, Mariano's next step in the process of creating high quality linen shirts was to partner with a finisher. Ferrabue introduced the Mariano’s to ROS.MEN SRL, a manufacturer of men’s and women’s classic and sports shirts located in Città di Castello (Perugia). This brand has been known for its quality since it was established in 1972 and is on their second generation of family leadership. The Mariano’s visited with Roberto Rosmini at the Città di Castello factory and showroom and worked with him to design and create the “mariano” line of high quality men’s linen shirts.
